Early Learning Migrant Program

Welcome!

This is the migrant/early learning education page for the Woodburn School District.  Please look around and let us know if you have any questions!

WHO ARE MIGRANT PRESCHOOL/MIGRANTE PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS FOR?

The WSD offers preschool options for children who are in the migrant program and have turned 3 years old by September 1st. You may inquire with any staff member in our early learning department for more information!

In addition to preschool options, the migrant program now has learning opportunities for children between 3-5 years old who do not attend an educational center such as the WSD Preschool, OCDC, Head Start or Preschool Promise, among others. We want all preschoolers to be supported in developing the skills they will need when they start school.

We know that the first years of life are crucial in the development of skills such as: talking, playing with other children, listening to their teachers, thinking and solving problems. We also know that many children are not achieving the expected results when they start Kindergarten.  For these two reasons, migrant pre-k programs have been created to support parents and children at a critical stage in the child's life and to raise the results when starting school.

This service is totally free!  Students will also initially receive a backpack with learning materials so that they can do activities at home during the school year.
