ESOL Endorsement and Dual Language Specialization Program Partnership
WSD ESOL Requirement
The Woodburn School District has, as a condition of employment, a requirement that all licensed staff obtain an ESOL Endorsement within 3 years of their hire date. In order to support teachers in obtaining this license, the district has entered a partnership with Oregon State University to provide the courses necessary for the endorsement. Teachers can either a) pursue tuition reimbursement as outlined in Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, or b) enter into an agreement with the district wherein the district pays for the coursework and the educator agrees to complete a minimum of 3 years employment with Woodburn SD upon satisfactory completion of the ESOL Endorsement, if a contract is offered.
ESOL Endorsement and Bilingual Endorsement Program Partnership
To support educators in their attainment of the ESOL Endorsement, and to continue our commitment to supporting teachers in their biliteracy expertise, we have entered into a partnership with Oregon State University, through their TEAMS (Teachers Educating All Multilingual Students) grant opportunity to offer a pathway to ESOL Endorsement as well as the Dual Language Specialization (in Spanish). For more information on the OSU opportunities, please see their website.
