About Us

The Safety, Operations & Communication department is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, efficient functioning, and effective communication across all schools, the public & administrative offices. Key responsibilities include:

Safety Compliance: Ensuring all schools within the district comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.

Emergency Preparedness: Developing and implementing emergency response plans for various scenarios, including natural disasters, fire, and security threats.

Risk Management: Identifying potential safety hazards and implementing measures to mitigate risks.

Facility Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

Security: Implementing and managing security protocols, including surveillance systems, access controls, and collaboration with local law enforcement.

Transportation: Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of school buses and transportation services.

Health and Wellness: Coordinating with health services to promote student and staff health, including managing responses to public health issues.

Training: Providing safety training and resources to staff and students to foster a culture of safety awareness.

Incident Reporting and Response: Documenting and responding to safety incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions.

Communication: Managing internal and external communications to ensure clear and effective dissemination of information. This includes crisis communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.

By focusing on these areas, the Safety, Operations & Communication department ensures a safe, secure, and well-informed school environment for students, staff, and the broader school community.
