WSD School Resource Officers Program

The Woodburn School District, Woodburn School Board, and Woodburn Police Department have committed to conducting a review of our School Resource Officer (SRO) Program using an equity lens. The review will guide our work towards continually improving our support to our students.

We want our community to be assured that we value our partnership with our local officers, and police department and believe that our partnership is critical to our commitment to keeping students and families safe at school and district-sponsored events. Our partnership is critical during emergencies or crisis interventions. And our partnership is critical to disrupting systems of racism in our community and in our schools.

School Resource Officer Surveys

We want to assure our school community that we are taking great care to hear all viewpoints as we review this program. We are making intentional efforts to reach out and hear the experiences of all stakeholders. As members of our community, we would want to hear your thoughts and opinions on this important topic, and invite you to take one of our surveys linked below.

After the surveys are concluded, we will be convening focus groups to review the survey data, and provide additional input and suggestions for the team to consider. If you are interested in participating in a focus group (sizes will be limited), please contact Desiree Kiesel at dkiesel@woodburnsd.org.
