ESOL Endorsement Program Partnership

WSD ESOL Requirement

The Woodburn School District has, as a condition of employment, a requirement that all licensed staff obtain an ESOL Endorsement within 3 years of their hire date.  In order to support teachers in obtaining this license, the district has entered a partnership with George Fox University to provide the courses necessary for the endorsement.  Teachers can either a) pursue tuition reimbursement as outlined in Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement,  or b) enter into an agreement with the district wherein the district pays for the coursework and the educator agrees to complete a minimum of 3 years employment with Woodburn SD upon satisfactory completion of the ESOL Endorsement, if offered.  For more information on option b), please contact Alma Morales Galicia in the Talent Acquisition and Retention Department.
