Dear WSD community,

We hope this letter finds you healthy and safe. As we continue with the New Year, we have received updated information regarding the status of reopening schools from Oregon Governor Kate Brown. In her most recent communication, she outlined a shift in how schools will now be following COVID-19 metrics. Instead of the metrics being a “mandatory” determination of if schools can reopen, they are now “advisory.”

High School 2.0 Task Force to identify strengths and gaps at WHS

Woodburn High School has a unique structure - Four small high schools of choice with a fifth alternative high school for upperclassmen who need support. The small school structure has led to increased graduation rates that exceed the state average. The Oregon Small Schools Initiative, or OSSI, was designed to take schools’ performance in a direction that increased graduation and college readiness among all students, especially those traditionally underserved.

WSD Superintendent Newsletter October 2, 2020 - Volume 1, Issue 6

Join WSD Superintendent Oscar Moreno Gilson on Monday, October 5, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. as he hosts the virtual first “Cafecito con el Superintendiente,” in Spanish. He will be hosting an English session on Tuesday and a Russian session on Thursday. The intent is to hear from the Woodburn community directly and learn more about what you feel is working and what needs adjustments.
