Background
The Woodburn School District Board of Directors would like to extend the opportunity for students to apply to serve as Student Representatives on the Board for the 2026-2027 school year. The Board will select two students to serve for a one-year term.
Student Board Representative Eligibility
1. Student Representatives on the Board must attend Success High School or Woodburn High School.
2. Student Representatives on the Board shall hold current sophomore or junior class status, rising junior or senior.
3. A Student Representative on the Board who served while in grade 11 may reapply to serve a second term.
4. Two Student Representatives on the Board may serve on the Board per year.
Selection of Student Representatives on the Board
1. Students wishing to serve as Student Representatives on the Board will apply for the position in late Winter, early Spring. The year of service will begin the following July.
2. A committee consisting of at least two Board members shall screen applicants and make recommendations to the Board. The Board will conduct interviews and appoint Student Representatives on the Board in a public meeting.
3. The selection of Student Representatives on the Board shall be based on the completed application and materials supplied by the applicant and the interview.
4. Should a Student Representatives on the Board position become vacant prior to January 1, the Board may appoint a replacement who will serve until the end of the current school year.
