Emergency Preparedness Plan/ Standard Response Protocol
Even though there is no reason to believe that WSD schools are terrorist targets, every school has put into place emergency plans that address a variety of crisis situations. Our schools are expanding the safety program to include the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). The SRP is based on these four actions. Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter. Threat Level Status and Emergency Preparedness Information
National Threat Level Status
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security in consultation with the Homeland Security Council has lowered the national threat level status from High to Elevated risk of terrorist attack or Level Yellow.

WSD procedure for Emergency Closing of Schools and Offices
In the event of inclement weather, employees, students, and parents should listen to radio and television announcements for information about the closing of schools and offices.
The Superintendent of Schools will decide whether to close the school district, then make an official announcement.
