The Woodburn School District provides a
world class education to 5,600+ students
in grades K-12 across four elementary,
two middle and five small high schools.
Our promise is to engage, inspire, and prepare all students to learn and lead in a global society.
Message from the Superintendent:
It is my pleasure to provide an overview of the Woodburn School District! Our student body is one of the most culturally and economically diverse in the state. Woodburn graduation rates are almost 10 percent higher than the state average, and even higher for disadvantaged student populations.
We attribute this success to offering challenging academics and embracing innovation in our instructional practices with teams of teachers working together for student progress. We hold students to high academic and social standards, including community service requirements, while providing the support, services and programs they need to succeed. We also work to build partnerships with businesses and colleges to make sure our students have opportunities after they complete high school.
Our K-12 dual language program means that our students are proficient in two languages by the time they complete high school. All students have the opportunity to earn college credit before they graduate, and many pursue post-secondary opportunities beyond high school. Woodburn students achieve academically and professionally because of this equity lens. Because of their ability to succeed in a global society, Woodburn graduates are actively sought by businesses, colleges and universities.
Another part of our success with students is due to an innovative Strategic Plan that we have updated every five years for the past 20 years. The next update will be in the Fall of 2018 to meet the future needs of our students. We also work to engage parents and guardians in learning because students perform better when their families are involved in their education.
The Woodburn School District is open and transparent in its policies and decision-making. We operate under a balanced budget and have passed all accountability and financial audits by the state. All school board meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone to attend. Thank you for your support.
