Student Registration and Transfers


In order to assure high quality service, please call to schedule a registration appointment in advance.  Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first served basis during our office hours of 8 am to 4 pm from September to March.  We strongly recommend appointments from April to August due to high volumes of student registrations and/or staffing levels.


New Student Registration

To ensure prompt and timely service, please call ahead for an appointment.
Required Documentation: Please bring the following documents with you to registration

  • Proof of residency (driver’s license, utility bill, rental contract, etc)
  • Birth Certificate or legal proof of age (passport, hospital record)
  • Record of Immunizations
  • Names, phone numbers of emergency contacts

Returning Student Registration

Returning students must show proof of residency. (driver’s license, utility bill, rental contract, etc)
You must re-enroll your student if they have been out of the District (absent) for ten days or more.

Kindergarten Registration

To register for kindergarten, your student must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2015. Kindergarten registration dates for the 2015-2016 school year begin March 30.   To ensure prompt and timely service, please call ahead for an appointment during March.

Transfers

Resident students who move out of the Woodburn School District  may continue to attend school where they are presently enrolled by visiting their new resident district and filing inter-district paperwork.

Non-resident students who would like to attend Woodburn School District should contact their resident district office for their resident requirements.

  • Woodburn School District has agreed to accept up to 15 Dual Russian Program kindergarten non-resident student transfer requests for the 2015-16 school year. The District will accept applications up to June 30, 2015. On July 1, 2015 if the District has received more than 15 applications for the Dual Russian Kindergarten Program the District will hold a lottery. The remaining applications will be placed on a waiting list.
  • Woodburn School District has agreed to accept all grades K-12 non-resident student transfer requests for the 2015-16 school year. Applications received will be processed during the month of June for new incoming students.

Resident students who would like to attend another district need to be released from Woodburn School District. They may do so my filling out and submitting the Application for Nonresident Transfer Request to the District Office, located at 965 N. Boones Ferry Rd, or by faxing it to 503-981-8018 or emailing it to jgarcia@woodburnsd.org.  Submitted requests will take 2-3 weeks to process and the receiving district will be in contact regarding approval/denial.
