He awoke to a nice surprise when his friend called him to inform him that he was a recipient of a National Scholastic Art Award for winning photo that was automatically submitted to the national competition.
Raul Prudencio-Paque’s photo was a state level Gold Key recipient in Oregon’s Scholastic Art & Writing competition. Gold Key recipients are automatically entered into the national competition where Gold Key recipients from all 50 states compete for Gold and Silver Medals.
Being recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards with Silver and Gold Keys is not something new for Woodburn Arts and Communications Academy Senior but receiving a National Scholastic Art Awards was something he said he has been chasing since his freshman year. He realized his goal in his senior year.
In this video, Prudencio-Paque talks about his prize winning photo and his love for photography.
