April 5, 2019 (Woodburn, Ore.) Woodburn High School Theatre is proud to announce their upcoming
production of the whimsical hit play, Peter and the Starcatcher. The production opens April 26.
This Tony award-winning contemporary play upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be Peter Pan. Featuring a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, Peter and the Starcatcher uses ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring the story to life.
From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, the story playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. It is a performance that is perfect for the entire family.
Peter and the Starcatcher is the final of three shows that comprise the 2018-2019 theatre season at Woodburn High School. The season is themed “together we rise” and all three titles explore the realities and hopes of living in thriving community.
The production features students Dallon Jensen as Peter, Lesly Arroyo as Molly and Conner Williams as Black Stache along with a supporting cast and crew representing all four schools on the Woodburn High campus.
The show is directed by WACA theatre teacher Caleb Thurston.
The show runs for two weekends, Friday-Saturday, April 26-27 and May 3-4 , at 7:00 pm. All performances take place at the Woodburn High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for general admission and can be purchased from the box office starting thirty minutes before each performance.
