The Woodburn School District will say goodbye to 14 education and administrative professionals when school ends in June. The retirees have 381 years of experience between them.
“The number of education professionals who are reaching retirement age is substantial,” said Superintendent Chuck Ransom. “We are planning for their succession to ensure a smooth transition.”
The school district would like to thank the following professionals for their commitment to students and community:
Brad Agenbrod Teacher French Prairie 24 years
Mariam Baradar Migrant Program Coordinator Welcome Center 30 years

As a result of these retirements or other opportunities, the school district also is planning some administrative changes for the 2018-2019 school year:
Jeff Taylor will leave Nellie Muir to be Principal at Valor. Oscar Belanger, currently Assistant Principal at Nellie Muir, will be the Principal next year.
Ricardo Marquez, who is the Principal at French Prairie, will be Principal of Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology.
Mateo Courtney will serve as Principal of French Prairie, a change from his current Assistant Principal position.
Assistant Principal positions at French Prairie and Nellie Muir are open, as is the Principal position at Lincoln Elementary with the retirement of Jenny Caragol. The school district will continue to update the community as appointments and positions are filled.
