The Woodburn School District will hold a forum on school safety on Monday, March 19. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Woodburn High School Lectorium (1785 N. Front Street, Woodburn). All members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend.
Administrators and the Woodburn Police Department will debrief with community members about recent copycat threats facing public schools across the country. They will discuss what safety measures are in place for students and staff, and current protocols for responding to these threats. Police and school administrators also are looking for input from community members as to how to improve communication during such incidents.
“We’re reaching out to our community to collaborate on a solution,” said Superintendent Chuck Ransom. “We all have the same goal of keeping students and staff safe, but what can we do better?”
