The Woodburn School District is looking for community members, parents and
guardians who would like to participate in its five-year Strategic Plan update.
The Strategic Plan is significant in that it guides the school district’s decision-making that contributes to
the success of its students. Woodburn graduation rates are almost 10 percent higher than the state
average, and even higher for disadvantaged student populations.
The Woodburn School District provides a world class education to approximately 5,700 students in
grades K-12 across four elementary, two middle and five small high schools. Its student body is one of
the most culturally and economically diverse in the state. The District supports social justice by providing
equitable outcomes for all students. Woodburn students achieve academically and professionally
because of this equity lens.
Interested parties should be able to commit to four meetings at the District Conference Center located
at 1390 Meridian Drive:
• Friday, October 27, 12:00- 6:00 pm
• Saturday, October 28, 9:00- 2:00 pm
• Friday, February 9, 12:00- 6:00 pm
• Saturday, February 10, 9:00- 2:00 pm
The first set of meetings in October is to draft a new Strategic Plan. The second set of meetings is to
finalize the plan after an extensive public outreach and feedback process.
If the meeting commitment is prohibitive for some, the District would welcome community participation
in reviewing the draft plan and providing input anytime from November through January.
If you are willing to participate in the Strategic Planning process, please contact Jenne Marquez at (503)
981-2701 or email@example.com. The final Strategic Plan will be published in February of 2018.
