WSD Bond Update - November 2, 2017

In May 2015, the Woodburn community approved a $65 million bond. We continue to make progress on bond-funded projects to add space for students, make major repairs to maintain our schools, and improve security/technology systems. These proposed projects are scheduled along a 5­-year timeline (2015-2019) for completion.

Washington Elementary 

Construction of a 2-story addition is underway on the Washington Elementary site.  The general contractor is also working on the following site development activities:

• Underground water lines for fire suppression system

• Fire Department access roads

• Storm water management system

• New covered play area

• New bus turn-around and staff parking

• New gymnasium building foundation system

• Received planning approval from the City of Woodburn

• Received permit approval for building and site development work 

• Construction Manager/General Contractor Triplett Wellman issued public bid requests for electrical, plumbing, and other trades

•  Groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for November 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. (1390 Meridian Drive in Woodburn)

• Completion is expected by September 2018 in time for the next school year

• Selecting architectural firm for the design and construction of the new classroom annex, new gymnasium and building upgrades

 

Heritage Elementary

• Selecting architectural firm for the design and construction of the new classroom annex for added student capacity

 

Lincoln Elementary/French Prairie Middle School

• Selecting architectural firm for the design and construction of the new classroom annex, cafeteria expansion and building upgrades
